Inara Pey, the famous blogger (I think we all read her articles on Modem World Blog), inaugurated her artistic exhibition of photographs at the ArtFul Expressions Gallery last night.

As she wrote (and I share this feeling), it is not easy to propose yourself to the public as an exhibiting artist when, for years, you have written, illustrated, and promoted the art of others.

Last night I arrived at the inauguration unfortunately late (and I apologize to Inara), but in time to savor the musical taste of DJ Julz and to run into Simon Linden‘s fantasy in creating the avatars.

Simon Linden

Yes, because at the inauguration of Inara, Simon Linden was also there. No surprise, Inara has been writing assiduously and professionally about Second Life for over 10 years.

As she writes in her bio, that you can find at the landing point of the Artful Expressions Gallery,

My blog – http://modemworld.me – covers almost all aspects of Second Life: news, technical reports (server and viewer), announcements from the Lab, notices, and reviews of in-world events, product reviews, and personal notes and opinion pieces. I also have, in the past, covered other virtual environments, including OpenSim grids, High Fidelity, and Sansar.

But today we want to talk about her images

Her photographs “accompany” her articles. Therefore her style is recognizable and clearly identifiable.

The choice of photographs that Inara proposes at the ArtFul Expressions Gallery seems to be intentionally made to be in tune with the setting. Or is it the setting that is designed to be in tune with Inara’s art?

It is not known and, after all, I don’t think it’s so important.

There are 11 images on display, including 6 inside the artistic coffee bar, and 5 in the outdoor garden.

The settings and style that the blogger proposes are “relaxing,” “comforting,” and with calm colors and tones.

As I said, it is a style that is known to all, because her images enrich her articles and are the memory of beautiful locations in Second Life (some of them no longer exist).

The exhibition will be on until the end of May.

I love communication in all its aspects. I like to share my experiences, explorations, and knowledge with the Second Life community. I created the VIRTUALITY blog and 360 GRADI Magazine with this goal in mind.

  1. Thank you for the kind words, Oema, and for coming to the opening!

The melding of location and imagery was entirely down to Sorcha, who took the images I offered and then placed them with an expert eye within AE’s garden and indoors 🙂 .

    1. It has been a pleasure, Inara! Sorcha made a great job, indeed. ☺️ Forgot to ask… The exhibition will be on until…?
